Can We Go Back to Sunday Please?

My 10 year old daughter offered me a pedicure and manicure for Mother's Day, how could I resist? I admit I was a little nervous, I mean seriously, I am leary of even going to a salon! But she took out Ji Baek's Book "Rescue Your Nails", and gave me the pedicure in the book.
She did such an amazing job too. She did all the steps, and even massaged my feet. How cute is that? Up next was the manicure, which we agreed a polish change was the only thing that was really needed. She gave me one coat of Milani My Network.
She did a pretty good job too. Although I think we could have done one more coat and then cleaned up. But we were in a hurry to get to the beach so we could meet up with my cousin and her family so she stopped after just one coat. I know I had to trim my nails too. The middle finger nail broke last week and I have been lazy in evening them out. So I knew when I got home from the beach I would have to swatch for the week and trim my nails.

Needless to say by the time I got around to fixing my nails it was 10:30pm and I was too tired to do much, so I just trimmed my  nails and redid this manicure. The funny thing is I cleaned them up and it looks good, yet in the pictures, it looks like I missed a bunch of spots in my clean up. I can not see this on my actual nails! Go figure.

I actually took one with flash by mistake - but it actually really showcases this polish.
It came out blurry - but you get the idea. How cool is this polish?! I have tried these types of metallics in the silver and copper colors from other brands, but never a gold until now. This looks great! I haven't tried very many Milani polishes before either. I have tried some of the glitter polishes and that is about it. I have to say - I was so impressed with the formula on this one. I probably could have gotten away with just one coat, but I was so tired, that my skills were just meh last night. I added a second coat and not a single polish line in sight. It was so easy to apply. This little $4 polish(buy 1 get 1 1/2 off when I grabbed it) performed as good if not better than some "salon" brands. I was very impressed. I am going to have to try some other colors from this line.

Unfortunately since I ended up not swatching this weekend at all, this manicure will have to go tonight.
