My Girls

I have writer's block. Shocking, since I love to talk. As I sit here thinking of what to write, Coco is offering suggestions. She thinks I should tell you guys all about her and how cute she looks in her new hat. I told you she is a future blogger! I can only imagine a blog by Coco. It would be all over the place. She would not just focus on polish, but on everything she loves. Just remember you heard it hear first - Coco is destined to be a blog star! She says she is going to be a Petrologist when she grows up. Coco is full of life and energy. Everything about life is happy and she just is happy just making the people around her laugh. Just like her daddy. Her smile and laugh is contagious and she loves hugs! She is just the cutest thing! Here she is in her cute new hat doing her Nana's nails when she was out visiting.

Would you ever know I have two other daughters? It seems that Coco is the one always hanging around. My oldest - we call her Kat is 14 and going into high school. So she has a life and doesn't need me as much anymore. :( But she is just as huggy as Coco. She is also very open with me and tells me a lot. I would say she tells me everything, but I am quite certain that is not the case. She is also funny just like her dad. She totally has his sense of humor and cracks me up all the time. She is turning out to be such an amazing young lady. She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up.  I think she should be a writer though because she writes the most amazing poetry. Who knows maybe she will do both. People gravitate towards her, everyone wants to be around her. So I think no matter what she decides to be when she grows up she will be a huge success.

My middle child is the serious one. Her nickname is too close to her real name, so I will have to make one up for the blog. hmmm how about Bee. Bee is definitely the serious one of the bunch. She is a perfectionist and takes after her mother (me). She is also a very strict vegetarian. She called me at work the other day in tears. I couldn't understand a word she was saying. All I knew was something bad happened. Real bad. So I was grabbing my purse and keys and making my way for the door. Turns out she found out Altoids are made with Gelatin and she had been eating them for the last two years (On extremely rare occasions may I add).  She was devastated! I knew she was serious about being a vegetarian, but WOW! Once she makes a decision, that is it. There is no turning back. The more she learns the stricter she becomes. So far she still has dairy products, but that is about it. She will not eat or wear anything where an animal was killed. Animals are friends not food. It is that simple for her.

Can you tell I am so proud of my girls? I guess that is an instant cure for writer's block! Now that you know a bit about my girls, let's get on to the nails.

This is OPI Flower to Flower. This is a shimmery bubble gum pink color.  I am loving the shimmery effects in most of the polishes from this collection. This is just such a happy color. It took three coats for complete coverage with this one, but otherwise the formula was fine.

I'm not one who owns a lot of pinks like this, but when I do it is because I love it. But this is Kat's bottle.  I may have to break down and get a full size of this one. I can see this being a great go to pedi color for me! Well I better get off to work now. Have a great day!

  3. Wow..your daughter has more discipline than most. I tried a vegetarian diet once and it was a bit tough for me. Does she have problems at school? I don't remember my school lunches having vegetarian options.

  5. This post just warmed my heart so much. The way you talk about your husband (pointing out the good traits in your daughters by noting that you see them in him too) and children is so refreshing. I love that you've prioritized such a strong, caring family, and it shows in the way your daughters maintain their relationship with you (telling you things even in the throes of the terrible teens, etc.). Keep being the excellent mom you obviously are! :D

  6. Thanks L.

Megan, I got her those sneakers on Ebay. She wants a new pair before the school year starts. They were like $50 on ebay, so not to bad.

Serena, she is very disciplined. It still amazes me. We leave in the land of vegan surfers, so the schools here offer vegetarian and vegan options. At least 2 choices each day. She can also get any regular lunch with the meet on the side. If she gets a regular lunch - she has to take the meet, but they at least separate it. Talk about waste though. She usually just gets the vegetarian option or brings a lunch.

Evil Angel - wow - I am seriously impressed!

Stellaincognita, Thank you. I am very fortunate to have such an amazing family. I got very lucky. Although I didn't mention the fighting my girls love to do with each other. Oh the lovely teen years! I don't know how I am going to survive it! Ha!

  8. I love to see how much you love your family--it definitely comes through in your writing every time they are mentioned. I am also seriously impressed with your daughter's vegetarianism. While I am not comfortable with the sources of a lot of the food I eat, I have not yet been brave enough to really make a change. To hear about people like your daughter really inspires me.

/serious ALSO Flower to Flower is definitely a great pedi color. :)
