I'm Feeling a Bit Precocious

I hope everyone had a great weekend. After my facial on Saturday I ended up taking a nap. I can't remember the last time I took a nap in the middle of a weekend day, but I think I should do it more often. it felt so good! After the napping was done, I hung out with some of the girls in the neighborhood for a little while. I love living in a neighborhood with great neighbors. It makes life so much better when the people who are always around you are nice. I think in the military we tend to get to know our neighbors more than those who aren't in the military, but then again I could be wrong.

Yesterday I went to brunch with some friends and it was so nice. I really have a great group of friends here. One of my friends said that her SIL calls us The Real Housewives. Too funny. But we are like the The Real Housewives, that get along great. HA! I have to ask if they are OK with me posting some pictures of us on here, so you can see us in action. After brunch I went to a Tastefully Simple party at another friend's house. It is a home party where they sell different food items that take only 1 to 2 ingredients to complete the recipe and is done fairly quickly. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was pretty good stuff. I ordered a few things that I think we can enjoy as a family or if we have friends over. Before today the only thing I had of theirs was the Love Lemon Lush or whatever it's called. It is a frozen drink mix that you add vodka to and it is delicious, so I knew going in I was going to order more of that. Can't wait to break that out with the neighborhood girls once it arrives.

As if that wasn't enough to cram in a Sunday, I was suppose to drive to meet up with some friends from high school for dinner. One of which I haven't seen in a few years. I was really looking forward to it. But with the kids back in school and it being a Sunday night, it just wasn't going to happen. I debated going by myself, but I didn't really want to drive an hour away and back alone. I know selfish right? I suck! I feel like such a crappy friend. I will have to figure out a way to make it up to them.

Anyway, on my toes I put on a pink gel polish last week. It is a baby pink color and I am really loving it. I really wanted to put it on my hands too, but the whole matching thing just isn't me. But when we got to brunch today, one of my friends had the perfect pink bubble gum pink on her nails and it just made me want to do my nails pink even more. I wanted to ask her what she was wearing, but I really didn't need another lemming, so I kept my lips tight and went digging in my nail drawers before the Tastefully Simple party at my friends house. I found one that was a perfect match for my toes with the exception that it has an added shimmer. It is Spa Ritual Precocious. It took 4 coats. Ugh! But it is so pretty and girly. I am loving it. Apparently I am in a pink and girly mood!

Not a bad way to start a week if you ask me. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

  1. isn't it funny how we can get into a pink mood? i usually don't like it at all

  2. I love the subtle shimmer in that. So pretty.

  3. You are so right about military neighborhoods being more friendly. I so miss being part of the active duty community with family and friends. I do believe the connection is you arae all in the same boat - no pun intended if your a Navy or Marine wife - you have so much more in common than just your social calendar. Seems you keep a FULL calendar - no wonder you needed an afternoon nap!! Lover you mani!!
