A Mani, An Outfit & Some Makeup - Warning Pic Heavy!

I decided to do my full face for my Birthday dinner using all EvilShades makeup. I have to say I was a bit nervous. I am not hugely adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow, so I wasn't sure what to select with the set I ordered. I let Andrea owner of Evil Shades select the eyeshadows for me. Two of the three she sent are Neritic which is a pale peach color with some shimmer and Necropolis which I would call a black with multi colored micro glitter. I was so worried with these with all the micro glitter. If there is one place I do not wear glitter it is on my face. I was worried. I was surprised that while the shadow was super pigmented, it didn't give me a teenager glitter look. It was very subtle and very nice. I used Pinup for the blush and then I just used lipgloss in Suffocation on my lips since my eyes were so prominent. I forgot to have John take a close up picture of my face, so I cropped one out for you.
Evilshades makeup was definitely easy to blend and work with and had great staying power. I can't wait until  can order some more. I feel like I can play with shadow now!

Now on to the outfit to go with my lace nails. I ran out of time, so I could only take two pictures of myself really quick once we got to the restaurant. But here are some pics I can show you.

the cake. How pretty is that? It was sooo good!

I know you already saw my nails - but how cool - they almost match the cake!

And here is the outfit of the day. I wore a strapless top from Charlotte Russe for $22. The shorts I grabbed at Marshall's a while ago for $10. The shoes are Chinese Laundry for $118. I'm wearing my Alex & Ani bracelets and those were $28 each. The jacket I got at Arden B for $55 during their buy one get one sale last year. The necklace is from Charlotte Russe and was $8 I think, and the earrings are from Claire's and they were $8 too. The clutch is one I grabbed at a hole in the wall store in Newport Rhode Island where you buy lobsters. I paid $15 for it.

With the jacket off. People in the restaurant were watching, so I didn't take anymore photos alone.

Juan & me

I had planned an alternate manicure to the lace manicure in case the lace didn't work out. I decided to do it last night since the lace started to fray a little.

I used Wet & Wild in Blackmail for my base. This is a black polish with multicolored micro glitter. I was a bit disappointed since it took three coats and was not very shiny. But for less than $2 can I really complain?

I then used China Glaze Nova and did a gradient style manicure from the base towards the free edge. This is such an easy manicure when you want to amp up your manicure without spending a lot of time. I think it would have worked great with the outfit had the lace manicure not worked out. Well the fun weekend festivities are over. My friends and family really made me feel special on my birthday. Words can not express how amazing the people in my life are. I feel like this will be the best year yet thanks to them!

  1. I love both of those manicures! The one with Nova is stellar.

  2. I love the second mani! So simple but elegant. Your outfit is great. I wish I could wear something like that but definitely don't have the body for it. Pretty cake - almost a shame to cut in to it. LOL

  3. You look great!!!!

    The mani's HOT!!!!

  4. All of your manicures look great! The lace one is especially fabulous! I wish Konad would create a plate like that!

  5. You look Beautiful! I stalked your pictures for 2 days before deciding on what colors to send, lol I think they look perfect on you!

  6. You look beautiful and I love both manis!
