My First Attempt at a Duochrome

I was trying to create a purple brown toned polish with a green duo chrome effect. I got pretty close. It showed perfect in the bottle, but on the nail it came out with more green than the purple brown color. But it still came out pretty cool none the less. I may have to think this one through a little more though if it is going to make it into the line. But either way I am having a blast trying to create different colors! I have already created over 20 polishes in the last week and a half! It's crazy! I need to see about getting more bottles already!

On the bad side, I received my samples back from the lab for the colors I am releasing and they were not perfect. I was so disappointed. The lab is now working on take two. The formula was perfect, it was the colors that were off from what it is I am looking for. OK so maybe I am just bummed because I was hoping for perfection right out of the gate, but after months of working on this, it just seems like forever! And nothing short of perfection will do. I want to release these colors sooner rather than later and with each go round, it just adds more time to the wait. But I would rather put out my dream product rather than just a good enough product, and since we are just establishing our relationship, this could be part of the reason. I am hoping to hear some news tomorrow as to how much longer this is going to take and when I can expect to see the second take on the colors. Wish me luck!

  4. Well apparently I still have some work to do. I guess I should have paid more attention in chemistry! Good thing I can hire someone to do that end for me and I only have to worry about creating the colors. But all this work makes me wish I was a chemist! It actually seems fun now!

  6. I agree. I don't want to settle more for everyone than for me. I want this to be perfect for all of us. I know it sounds crazy, making the customers happy and all, but I guess I am just crazy like that! Ha!

  9. Why thank you! I think I am just a stubborn perfectionist. So sad! I am one of those people that nothing can ever be good enough when I am doing it. Good thing I am not an artist!

  11. What? You don't come on here everyday? Ha! Just kidding! Glad you stopped by today! Thanks for the compliment on the Duo-Chrome. I still think it can be hotter, but maybe now I will have to change my mind and just name that one Effin' Gorgeous! I like it! :)

I will be taking Paypal and I will ship to Canada. Yay! I am hoping I can ship to most everyone. As long as Paypal accepts the payment and the USPS lets me ship there I will try. I am trying to figure out international shipping costs still, but it may be one of those things for international buyers where I have you email me and just have me figure out what the shipping cost is and send a separate Paypal invoice.

  12. I need to be better at keeping an eye on your entries! I had no idea you were creating your own line of colours! This duo-chrome attempt is still effin' gorgeous. I hope when you release your polishes that you will take PayPal and ship to Canada! <3
