Needless to say I agreed to the date when Juan asked me out. I thought it would be one date and nothing more. Especially after his choice of date. HA! We went out with my brother and the girl of his interest for a dinner at Taco Bell followed by the movie A Nightmare Before Christmas. Oh yeah he was a charmer! But what I did learn in that one night was that he was sweet as can be, wicked smart and hilarious! I couldn't remember ever having had such a good time. I laughed so much. Sitting there watching the movie, I kept looking over at Juan laughing and thinking, I can't believe he likes this movie - what a kid. But at one moment I looked at him laughing up at the screen and it hit me so hard, it was like a flash forward to my future life and I knew in an instant I would marry him. When we left the movie theatre I dragged him over to a photo booth to take a picture with me. He must have thought I was nuts! But I knew one day I would be showing that picture to our grand kids, so I didn't care how corny it must have seemed. By now you all know we got married and now have three beautiful daughters. I would post the picture, if it didn't mean digging it out of an old photo album in a box in the garage. Yeah I'm lazy like that!
We don't really celebrate the anniversary of our first date. We remember it and sometimes will watch A Nightmare Before Christmas. It is almost like a silent anniversary type thing. But since we were just talking about buying the movie on Blu-Ray and watching it tonight, I thought I would share the story of our first date. Oh and in case you were wondering, he's still a huge Tim Burton fan and so isn't our oldest daughter, who offered to lend me her Jack Skeleton shirt for today! He also still has me laughing as well as our three girls. If any of you are single, if you find a guy that makes you laugh, he's most likely a keeper!
Today's NOTD is one that I received. It's a dark vampy burnt red labeled as a purple go figure. It kind of reminds me of Chanel Vamp(Original Rouge Noir version), but a smidgen darker or the newest by China Glaze Naughty & Nice. Nothing amazingly special or unusual color wise, but the formula was great, the color saturation was great, and it is still beautiful. Kind of reminds me of the mid 90's when these vampy colors really started hitting the scene. Hmm about 17 years ago if I remember correctly! ;)
|With flash so you can see the color|
It takes on a very dark hue depending on the light
I keep imagining this with some gold sparkle going through it. Does my brain ever just stop and enjoy a color as is anymore? I may have to try this.
