Happy New Year!

Our winter vacation is finally over and it is time to re-join the real world. I have not tweeted or blogged in a week. It has been so quiet. I haven't even read a blog. Talk about a much needed break. I am back refreshed with some ideas for the blog and more.

But for now, I figured while I get things unpacked and back in order, here is a little photo recap of our vacation back "home" with our families.

The kids sledding before "The Blizzard of 2010"

Mid blizzard at around 10 in the evening, my mother in law asked if I wanted to take a walk. She said it would be quiet and beautiful. And she was right, well until Coco decided to run in front of a snow plow and stop my heart. But she was safe and we were all just cold and wet by the time we got back home.

And this isn't even the worst of it.

After the clean up, John and I went to finish some shopping for Kat's Quinceanera

This is the lake that the restaurant we had Kat's quince overlooks. Looks like some guys are having fun ice fishing.

Look how peaceful and serene that looks.

John and I the night of Kat's Quinceanera. (Also New Year's Eve) I didn't get an outfit of the day shot, there were too many people around. But I rented the dress from for the night. You can see the dress here. If you are not a member of Rent the Runway, l can send you an invite. I was quite satisfied.

Kat is in the middle getting ready to celebrate her 15th birthday with a masquerade ball. She is flanked by her court. Traditionally the court has 15 girls and15 boys, but because we don't live at home with our families, we changed it up a bit. For those of you unfamiliar a Quinceanera is traditionally a Hispanic celebration, that celebrates a girl becoming a women and presenting her to society on her 15th birthday. Imagine a wedding for a 15 year old with no marriage. It is a bit insane. We did Kat's on a very small scale.

Walking Kat in to the event.

The cake

Towards the end of the night. Can you tell how tired I am?

The after party went on until well after New year's, Kat ended up falling asleep on the floor!

All in all, it was a great vacation. It flew by so fast. I hope everyone had a great Christmas or which ever holiday you celebrate if you celebrate. And a great start to the New Year! May all your dreams and wishes come true. And if I am lucky, Cult Nails will be a reality in just a few short weeks. I have put in a lot of hard work in this last year and am hoping you all love what I have to offer soon. Let 2011 be every one's best year yet!
