Picture Heavy - But So Worth It!

This week ended up being a crazy week. Work was pure insanity and then coming home and working on Cult Nails and family, there was just no time for me to put a post together at all. So since I skipped out on you guys most of the week, I am making it up to you with this post. So worth the wait!
If you follow me in Twitter or Facebook, you might remember that I posted a picture of the beach saying I NEEDED to make the colors of the ocean into a polish color! Here is the picture again, WOW! Seriously - can you imagine this bottled into a polish?
My first take was actually my third take. I wanted something that was sheer but buildable. This one built up pretty fast, and the color varied based on lighting. It went from green to blue leaning. I added some shimmer, but it isn't as visable as I would like. I want to do this again and add some more shimmer. But while I am loving this, I don't know if it is exactly what I am looking for. But once you see the last color I am showing you, you'll be glad I am holding off on this one for a bit longer.
Of course whenever I am mixing polishes together my daughters want to get in on the action. One of my daughters made this one. I am not sure which one made it, but Oh My Wow! Let me just say the pictures do not do this one any justice at all! This is like an aqua jelly that has has gold and green shimmer mixed together and green flakies that flash pink. I have no idea what she mixed to create this, but are you friggin kidding me? I can't stop staring at it! This reminds me of the water with Jellyfish swimming throughout the it. It is not what I had in mind, but how can this not become a Cult color? I am sending this one off to the lab, and I may just put the ocean color on hold a little longer, because this is a must! Of course Juan is going to tell me to stop making blue/green polishes - but come on!

  10. I agree with Susan! :D You may have to start paying royalties to your daughters ;) OOOOR, depending on how quickly your line expands (you could do a mature vs fun line)... like zoya smoke and mirrors... the first shade being the "mature" and the second being the "fun"... add a few more colours like this and you have two complimentary lines for the spring... :D
xxxx I love all that you come up with! Did I say that before anywhere?

  21. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Your daughter rocked that Maria. You need to try a coat of the one she created over the one you created. Would love to see if that gives it a completely different look or not!
