Polish Removal Tutorial

I have been getting a lot of questions on how I remove my polish without staining my nails. It's actually quite easy and I am sure there are several techniques that work, but this is mine. I used to go crazy back and forth with the cotton ball, now I just barely wiggle the cotton ball on my nail and go almost straight out. But let's take a look and maybe it'll make more sense.

1. Drench your cotton ball or felt square with polish remover
2. Place it on your nail for about 5 seconds. (up to 30 seconds for glitter polish)
3. Slowly wiggle away from your finger towards the free edge of your nail
4. This should remove all the polish in one swipe
5. Fold the cotton ball or felt and repeat on the rest of your nails. I typically use two cotton balls together if they are small ones, or one jumbo cotton ball. I can typically remove the polish off 3 or 4 fingers with this technique before needing to grab a new cotton ball.
6. You now have polish free nails ready for your next manicure!

It's very quick and easy to do and there is no staining on the nails or skin around the nails. I hope this tutorial helped you out. If you have a different technique, I'd love to hear it!

  1. Great tips! It sounds like a no-brainer, but I am the worst at polish removal...I just sorta haphazardly slosh my cotton around, making a giant mess. This will save a lot of time!

  2. I do kinda the same, though I've picked up adding a bit of foil around the tips for anything other than very easily removed polish. Kinda like the foil method LITE. And I've found I still get staining from some polishes, no matter what I use to remove it, but I guess that's just life, right?

  3. Thanks for sharing! I kind of do the same but still end up with a mess. What kind of remover do you use?

  5. i should definately try this! i'm one of those people that wipe back and forth on my nail, getting polish everywhere, and going through a million cotton balls!
