The 5,000 Likes reality!

As we near the reality of hitting the 5,000 FB likes, we are needing to finalize how we are going to the do this $5 sale. We have some ideas on how we want to work it and we want to make sure it is fair for everyone. As a business we have some considerations to make. We can't afford to sell out our entire stock or we would be put out of business for 3 - 4 months since that is how long it takes to restock a color. It would also have a severe financial impact if we had to do that. The thought of that is scary. So we have decided that we will have to adjust our inventory to half for each color in stock and once those sell out, they are off the table for the remainder of the sale. This way, we don't risk closing our virtual doors.

We will also give advance notice for the sale so that there is plenty of time for everyone who wants to order. Lastly we are looking at instilling maximum purchases. The reason being because we are a small business, we do not have the stock of a major polish company. We want to have this sale as a thank you to all our valued customers and want everyone who wants a polish to be able to get at least one at the sale price. Here is where your opinion would help. I am thinking of a cap of 4 polishes per person. Juan thinks we should cap at 2 polishes. I say that just sucks, I want 4. You know I will probably win this one! LOL!

So what do you guys think of our placing a maximum per order? Do you have any other ideas that would make this a successful and fair sale?

I want to finalize all the details of how the sale will work, so that when the time comes we are prepared and ready and there are no surprises. I would love your feedback on what you would like to see during this sale, since it is for you after all!

  1. I think the 4 bottle max is perfectly reasonable, and I just made a little list of the 4 I want! No one wants you to shut down, so adjusting the inventory makes sense, too. So excited! Can't believe you're doing this for us! As *if* I need more polish :D

  2. I think putting a maximun is perfect, we will be more than happy with 4 polishes at that price and also we don't want someone to buy everything and then sell it on ebay... is for polish fanatics!!
I'm going to chose my four now!!!!!!
    Thanks so much!!!! :-)

  3. I'm so glad you guys are thinking this through ahead of time. Great business sense! 4 bottles would be nice, but 2 is ok too if you think it will stretch your inventory. I think limiting the number of sale items is very, very smart.

  4. I like your idea of 4 :) Need to check for my 4 Most Wanted now!

  5. Will the sale include the top/base coats, and as such, be included in the limit of 4? Or will the limit only be for the polishes? :)

  6. I would be happy with 2 or 4- either way its a great deal and totally reasonable!

  7. I'd be happy with 2 or 4. Maybe compromise at 3 bottles? ;) Can't wait for the sale, will Wicked Fast be on sale too? I'm running out!

  8. is it 4 bottles per order total (of any color) or is the max on colors? I agree with the other comments that 4 would be very nice .. but if it is going to wipe you out then def. go with 2!

  9. I think a max of 4 bottles per person is reasonable. I have a lot more polishes than that on my wish list but it would be nice for everyone who is interested to get a chance to take advantage of the sale. I just wonder how you are going to ensure that people only order 4 bottles, because I know another company had issues with people creating multiple accounts with slightly different info during promos and I am sure you don't want that.

Will you be able to order other items along with the sale polish (ie base/top coats)? Will polishes be excludes, like Toxic Seaweed since it is limited edition?

In any case, I'm looking forward to the sale!!!

  10. setting a max would keep me from spending too much as well! win/win if you ask me. 2, 3, 4 whatever. the discount is reward enough!

  11. I think that if you're going to sell your polishes at such a discounted price, then as the business owner you are perfectly within your rights to set a limit on how many polishes a person can buy at that time. Lots of places do that during "mega sales" (generally 1/person) so four polishes per person seems very reasonable. I will add my voice to chorus asking if the treatments will also be on sale at this time. =)

  12. Yes even large companies will sometimes put a cap on the number of sale items one can purchase, so putting a limit on this sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I'd be happy if it was four but I'm not going to complain if it's two either! :)

  13. 4 as a cap sounds absolutely reasonable. I think everyone will understand that as the information is being put out in advance.

  14. I agree, we should be thankful you will have a sale. It doesn't matter what the limit is. Even without the sales I'll probably be buying some polishes soon, anyway.

  15. I say compromise with 3. Lol

I hope you bring back Blackout. I meant to get it the last time it was available and didn't. :(

  16. I agree... 4 is plenty for you to sell so low (and while I'd be disappointed, even 2 would be a nice gift). Heading over to the site to see which 4 my grubby little paws can't stay off of. :) Also curious to know how the top and base coats will fit into the sale.

  17. I think any number between 2-4 is very reasonable for this wonderful sale. I'm in love with every polish I've tried from Cult Nails, and I can't wait to purchase more colors that I've been eyeing!

  18. I'd love the chance to buy any of the numbers mentioned, but 1st a question... Will you have enough inventory available to allow each of your 5000 fans to buy at least 1 bottle each if they all show up? I understand not wanting to sell all of your inventory in one fell swoop, but if people are buying 2,3, or even 4 bottles each will that leave enough for everyone? I know realistically speaking that probably 5000 people won't show up for the sale but if they do I hope they all get a chance to participate. :)

  19. I think if you do 2 it kind of deters some because of shipping. If you only did a discount on two polishes and then allowed up to 4 in the order that would at least be helpful.

  20. I think 4 and maybe make a condition that one is Wicked Fast? Or is that bad. Haha. :]

  21. I like the max limit. Of course, we all want more, but at the same time, it really sucks when people swoop in and take all the stock and leave none for other people. Thanks for being considerate of everyone :)

  22. Its good that you guys are planning this ahead of time. I think a bottle limit is fair -maybe compromise at 3? Either way, I'll be there =)

  23. After having seen the hell that LLarowe is going through trying to figure out how to sell Lynnderellas, I would suggest putting a max cap in effect. I would suggest 2 bottles... Of course, I like more polish, so maybe you and Juan can split the difference and do a max of 3 bottles. I would also suggest putting a limit to 1 of each color.

  24. I think limiting at four is fair! Such a great sale and it would be great for everyone to get in on it.

  25. 4 sounds good! i am very excited for this! thank-you so much Maria!

  26. I prefer the idea of 4. When you're paying international shipping it's hardly worth it to buy just 2.

  27. Four sounds totally reasonable. :) Looking forward to it!

  28. I think you should go with two bottles. You are being more than generous by offering any kind of a discount in the first place, and I would hate to see your stock diminished so greatly without the kind of profit margin you deserve. I know it is ultimately your call, but we will all still love you if you choose two bottles.
