My 1 Day in NYC

If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, then you have already been with me during my trip to New York on Friday. But you had to know that I was going to blog about it too right? I partnered with the Nail Taxi and provided the nail polish that was used at the Ann Yee Collection presentation during New York Fashion Week which is still going on as I type. I can't tell you how exciting it was to be there for all of it. I was there and took pictures of all the behind the scenes and talked to a few people, but I have to admit, mostly I just felt in the way. Everyone was busy running around and I was pretty much standing there watching the madness. A few photographers came in after I was there for about an hour and they were busy snapping away, but other than that, everyone had a purpose. So while I was wide eyes watching the whole thing, I was also trying to do my best of staying out of every one's way and letting them get their work done.

Let's take you on a little photo journey in case you missed it.

The first thing I did after setting my bags down was order some room service. I was starving by the time I got to NYC. Here is the view from my room. Although the view was great, I was quite surprised that the room did not have a full length mirror. Um hello? I need to know what I look like before I leave the room! But then if I had to choose between a full length mirror and this view, I think I'll stick with the view.

Behind the scenes at the Ann Yee Collection show. The clothes was friggin' amazing! I encourage you to go to her Facebook and check them out!

A model's nails getting done. They wore Enigmatic on the thumb, index and middle finger and In a Trance on the ring and pinky finger. It came out so cool. I really need to try this. I am loving the three and two idea.

Cinnamon Bowser - founder of The Nail Taxi doing a model's nails. Can I just say her team was super sweet, accommodating and funny. I would love working with them! She has a great group of people around her.
The model's are getting set up for the presentation, while the hair, makeup and nail team takes care of any finishing touches.

Here is my favorite piece of the collection. You can see this on Ann Yee's facebook page here. It's the JAMES 3 layer dress. I soo must have this dress! I need to find out when it is coming out and where I can buy it and how much it's going to set Juan back! LOL!

Me & Ann Yee. She was so nice and her clothes, OMG - I just want it all. Last year my goal was my Alexander McQueen's. This year if we have another amazing year it is to own a piece from her collection.

A model showing off her manicure. She is an admitted nail junkie and loved Enigmatic. Actually a few of the model's went home with the bottles used to make their mani's happen.

Another model showing off her nails. What a cool picture!

After the Ann Yee show, I had about 6 hours to kill before I needed to be at the Bloggers Night Out event at the Caulfield. Can I just say that NYC when you are alone and don't know anyone and it is frigid outside is no fun! I spent about 4 of the 6 hours walking around the city. I am not kidding. I walked all through from Times Square to 6th ave, up to 57th and down to 39th. Through the blocks up and down. I went into stores, I people watched, I ate a slice of pizza. But alone, it just isn't quite as fun.

By the time I got back to the room, I thought my legs were going to fall off. I was exhausted and I was starting to get a headache, but I decided I should go to the Bloggers Night Out event anyway. This is more for fashion bloggers and you know how much I love showing my clothes on here. I want to do a bit better at the fashion features and I want to up myself to doing them a few times a week, so I figured I could meet some girls and learn some things. It was definitely worth going to.
I couldn't decide if I wanted to wear my faux fur shawl or not. I went with the shawl, but as I walked into the Caulfield there were three other bloggers I could immediately see wearing fur shawls. So I checked mine in with the coat check. Sadly I forgot I wore it and when I got my coat back I left. It wasn't until the next day when I was packing my bags that I realized I forgot my shawl! So so sad. Now I need to find another one. :( It took me months of searching to find one that wasn't real but still looked good and at a decent price. On the bright side winter is almost over here in FL, so I have almost a year to find another one. LOL!

I met a two other nail bloggers; Carly from http://www.lacqueredlover.com and Amy from http://gothampolish.blogspot.com/. They both were invited to Fashion Week by other nail companies. Who knew we could do that? I will have to look into this option for Sept! I have a few ideas I want to speak with the Nail Taxi about for Sept, hopefully she will want to continue to use Cult Nails in future shows. This pic is horribly dark. I have one on my camera, but it's too far away and I'm to tired to go get it. I need to change my habits here! I am relying on my phone camera WAY to much lately!

Lastly these are all the goodies I came home with from the Blogger's Night Out. See the Michael Kors clutch on the left? I won that from TJMAXX/Marshalls!! They had a "guess how much it costs in our stores" game and you got the prize if you guessed the price correctly. Well I am a pretty faithful Maxxonista and Marshallista so I knew exactly how much that clutch costs. I have also been eyeing it wanting it for months now too. I was so excited to win it!! WAHOO!

After a fun filled evening, I called it a night. So there you have it, my day in NYC! It's good to be home and getting things back to normal. But part of me wishes I could have seen more shows while there. I have a ton of ideas for Sept and can't wait for fashion week to end so I can present them to The Nail Taxi now! The future is looking brightly painted!
