Benefit They're Real Mascara Lash Bash

As a subscriber of Ipsy, I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to apply to be one of 1,000 lucky ladies to host a Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara Lash Bash. I applied instantly since I'm such a big fan of They're Real. About a year ago in search of the perfect mascara, Alyssa (@prettylittlebottles on Instagram), introduced me to the brand. Every since then I was hooked. So when I was selected to be one of the hostesses, I couldn't wait to introduce even more friends to They're Real!

Benefit & Ipsy set up an event website that helped with everything from decorations preparations, food & drink ideas and party games. They also sent a kit with several full size items to create a complete face look as well as a goodie bag with sample sizes of They're Real mascara, Benetint cheek & lip stain and a Sugarbomb lipgloss for each guest. I'm not much of a DIYer, but I was really into making this event fab! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw a lot of posts about our event already. I'm quite proud at how everything turned out. I decided to host the Lash Bash at my office since it's like a girly escape as it is.

The table setting

The cotton candy martini's were a big hit!

Coco and I spent hours making all the pom pom flowers we used to decorate the office.

A pink & white candy station

I bought some of my favorite Benefit Goodies for give aways. The bottom shelf housed some of my favorite Benefit Cosmetics and some that they sent for everyone to try!

I wanted everyone to come in and feel like they stepped into some fairytale story. I think everything came out perfectly! Now for the fun! I had everyone write down an embarrassing makeup story and we posted them on the wall. We had fun guessing who wrote each story! We also played a few games that Benefit had posted on their site. One game was a purse search. Instead of handing everyone a sheet to check off what was in their purse, I called out each item and everyone had to scramble to find the item in their purse. Overall we had a great time! The party was originally scheduled from 1pm - 4pm and some of us kept going well into the night! Brianna (@Brikasiabeauty on Instagram) is a pro Makeup Artist, and took the time to sit with each guest and show them how to play up their eyes using Benefit Cosmetics products. Lucky us! Not only did we get to play with some great makeup, we got to spend some quality girl time together. You just can't beat that. Thanks Benefit Cosmetics!

The purse search game in full swing! I'm impressed at how organized some of these ladies are!

Everyone enjoying some laughs and playing with makeup. Coco helped set up the entire office. She hung Benefit posters, set up the tables and candy station and made pom poms with me. Since she was such a big help, she got to come to our event. Plus I don't know another 14 year old who is as into makeup as she is and she's already a huge They're Real fan! So who was I to keep her away?

Kari (@OnceBittenBlog on Instagram) Posted a before and after picture using They're Real Mascara. I think one of her followers comments says it all!
Nope! They're Real!

I did put They're Real Mascara on one eye so you could see the difference. Amazing isn' it?!

This was much later in the evening. I used Stay Flawless 15 hour primer and my makeup stayed in tact all night. I was super exhausted and couldn't hide that, but my makeup was on point using all Benefit Cosmetic products and my lashes looked long and luscious!

  1. I agree this is my fav mascara as well. I just wish they made a waterproof version so I can have the same awsome lashes for my wedding in April.

    1. Kayla, Anastasia Brows makes a Waterproofer for your mascara! I need waterproofing sometimes, but I hate that I fall in love with a mascara and either the waterproof formula isn't as good or they don't have a waterproof version. The Anastasia Waterproofer applies like a clear mascara and it works really well. You should get it and try it out before your wedding to see if it works for you. (If you get it at Sephora and it doesn't work, they'll take it back) Oh and Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
